The Minnesota College Access Network
The Minnesota College Access Network (MCAN), an initiative of MMEP, is a statewide network of programs and practitioners working to achieve racial equity in higher education by supporting college participation and graduation of Students of Color, American Indian students, low income and first generation students.

MCAN promotes readiness by focusing on K-12 students, MCAN works to reveal and support the college going culture within communities of color and American Indian communities with early family engagement. We keep parents, students and communities aware of admission and financial aid options, and provide application assistance.

MCAN increases access. Institutions and educators need to know what resources, programs, and professionals support our students. MCAN facilitates trainings and networking events, and serves as a conduit for best practices and innovative strategies that expand student opportunities.

MCAN supports success by working with institutional partners on policies and practices developed to increase student achievement during college and fulfilling career attainment.

Programs and Publications
MCAN publications and programs are designed to expand college access, readiness and success throughout Minnesota.
